Happy world turtle day!  I found out that May 23rd is world turtle day, started by the American Tortoise Rescue in 2000 to increase knowledge and respect for turtles and tortoises.  I made this image of a Florida softshell turtle almost exactly 5 years ago (May 25th, 2010) on the Anhinga Trail in the Everglades.
