I made this image a couple of years ago on a morning walk and shoot along one of my favorite beaches on the California central coast. I didn't really think about monochrome when I made the image but when processing it, it seemed the obvious choice, allowing me to use monochrome to create greater contrast between the receding wave and the sand. I printed this a couple of weeks ago on Bartya paper and it makes for a striking print!
