We are in the ideal time to photograph the Eastern Sierra for fall color (in mid elevation). I haven’t gone out and done this in years (last time was 2011) but each time I did I’d always stop off at Mono Lake to photograph the tufa. I hear that with the drought, now is also a good time to photograph the tufa as the water level is the lowest its been in years.
