Decay

I am not an urban decay photography by any stretch (though I make an exception for the sand covered ghost town of Kolmanskop in Namibia). I was familiar with all the rust photography opportunities at Grytviken on South Georgia Island but Deception Island was new for me. I made these two images on our final landing of the trip at Deception Island shooting through open windows. I know depth of field would be a challenge so I captured a focus stack (which is ridiculously easy with the Phase One XF). While working on the images I found all the little details from the layers of colors in the peeling paint to the various little wires and bits of metal fascinating in these images.
