Emperor Family - A7r3, 251mm, f/10, 1/100s, ISO 50.

It was a long journey to get to Snow Hill Island and visit the Emperor Penguin colony there, but was worthwhile and rewarding. We ended up having 3 days visiting the colony and each day were blessed with warm temperatures, little wind and and ideal mix of sun and cloud. I’m not sure that any photo or video can convey the feeling of being there, but that didn’t stop me from making a ton of photos, though I also took the time to just relax and put the camera down. I’ve spent a bunch of time with King Penguin colonies in South Georgia and but the Emperors were very different and quite special.
