Today was our third and final day of Chimpanzee trekking. We found the Chimps very quickly, within 20 minutes of starting off but they were up in trees. Most of the morning was spent waiting for them to come down and then following them through the forest looking for opportunities for good photography. The day pretty much went like this with us trying to make as many images as possible.
I made this image shortly afternoon while following this Chimp. Many times, they will only sit still for a few seconds and with all the brush of the forest it can be really challenging getting a clear view. I captured this image while he was in motion, using some of the brush as a frame for the face. I didn’t expect to get anything when I shot this, but after seeing it in Lightroom, and a couple of quick edits, it works.
