Apart from the coast, my next favorite place to explore and photograph in California is the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada range. In particular I really like the Bristlecone Pine forest in the White Mountains with crazy gnarled branches. Its been nearly 4 years since I was last there, need to head back sometime soon.
