I was fortunate two weeks ago to be able to get out and do some photography on the coast on a Monday morning and so ended up having the entire beach to myself. With no clouds in the sky, I knew that I wouldn’t get much of sunrise colors but then was surprised to find that the offshore fog bank was actually picking up and reflecting the soft pastels of sun which was still behind the mountains to the east. I wanted a very wispy and ethereal image, so I settled in on a 30 second exposure and then it was just a game of timing and chance to get the right kind of waves.
Morning Wisps - A7r3, 30mm, f/11, 30s, ISO 100.
