New Mexico Sunrise

New Mexico Sunrise - 1Ds3, 70-200 II @ 200mm, f/8, 8s, ISO 100

Some of the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets I have witnessed have been on my past trips to New Mexico, particularly the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.  For photographing the migrating sandhill cranes and snow geese, the ideal time starts late November and goes to early January.  I made this image on my first morning at Bosque in 2010.  Each morning and evening of that trip we were treated to beautiful colors.
