Oakum Boy - 5D3, 400mm, f/5.6, 1/200s, ISO 200.

I hadn’t heard the term “Oakum Boy” to refer to juvenile King Penguins until my South Georgia expedition.  Digging around, it seems they got this name from whalers who thought their brown fluffy feathers looked at Oakum, a fiber that was used in caulking old wooden ships.
