I made this image almost a year ago on a shoot at Davenport beach with friends, but it wasn't until this weekend that I had the urge to process it and bring out what I had in mind when I made the capture. I think the tide was slowly coming in that evening and so the waves would slowly get higher and higher. I loved the contrast of the white of the surf against the warmly lit black and so I timed my 2s exposure for maximum waves. We are starting to head into what is a good time for Big Sur coast photography, the spring. Though I can walk somewhat, a beach is probably something I won't be visiting for a little while longer and slippery rocks with steep hikes not for many months.
